Probe templates define expressions that teach AutoNOC to acquire data from devices. In much the same way, event log templates teach AutoNOC how to store and access data from logs! AutoNOC stores all events in their native format with all information in tact. Why would native event storage matter? Because it allows columns of event log data to be preserved (a virtually unlimited number of columns in fact). This is different than in other legacy systems which force events into a pre-defined format, thus losing the valuable information about an event that might have been the key piece needed to solve a given problem.
