User Level Access Levels
AutoNOC provides four principle user roles in AutoNOC and they are defined as follows:
  • Help Desk
  • Technician
  • Designer
  • Administrator

Help desk users can access the first four primary tabs in the software. Technicians get the same privileges as help desk users, only they can also turn alarms on and off. Designer access enables the user to add, remove, delete, edit, and modify objects in the object model. Administrator access allows the user to modify the users in the model, to change licensing parameters, to customize how internal AutoNOC services work, and to manage the distributed model.

Third Party Access Using Sets
In addition to user access levels, all users can have access to all objects in AutoNOC, or to a pre-defined set. When a user has a security set defined they will only be able to view objects belonging to the set. This set works like a sandbox keeping the user locked to only those objects.

This feature allows AutoNOC to easily manage the scenarios where you give specilized access to customers and external users in a controlled manner.

User security sets is a valuable feature for a large range of customers who want to use AutoNOC both internally and give external access to third parties and user access levels makes it easy to define the role of a user and their privileges.
